MOSCOW, Oct. 3 President Joe Biden on social network X called the United States “a key state in the world” and called on House Republicans to approve aid to Ukraine.
«Speaker (US House of Representatives Republican Kevin) McCarthy and the Republican majority in the House of Representatives must keep their word and ensure approval of the support necessary to help Ukraine,» the American president wrote. In addition, Biden called the United States a “key state in the world” and called for acting in accordance with this status.
Previously, Biden signed a law approved by Congress that will continue funding the government for a period of 45 days — until November 17. At the same time, the law does not provide for the allocation of funds for the needs of Ukraine. Biden himself previously said that Washington “under no circumstances” can afford to stop supporting Kyiv.
Shortly after this, Biden said that he was urgently waiting for a separate bill to help Ukraine from Congress, including McCarthy, and that the United States “cannot, under any circumstances, interrupt American assistance to Ukraine.”
Russia previously sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov emphasized that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov stated that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, “including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel… in the territory of Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and other countries.”
