BAKU, October 2 Roscosmos has begun creating a project for the Griffon group of small satellites, which will allow viewing the surface of the entire Earth, said the general director of the state corporation Yuri Borisov.
“»We have begun to create a support group of ultra-small satellites called «Griffin». These are 136 devices in orbit that will provide high-intensity information about any territory of our country and the entire world,» Borisov said during session of the heads of space agencies at the International Astronautical Congress in Baku.
He noted that this system will provide for a wide and in-depth ground network for receiving and processing information.
At the Russia-Africa forum in St. Petersburg at the end of July, Roscosmos invited the countries of the Black Continent to join the creation of the Griffin, consisting of 136 devices based on the cubesat platform. This system will allow you to receive up-to-date information at least 40 hours around the world and every 30 hours from all over Russia, the state corporation noted.
