The meeting between the national teams of Russia and Cameroon will take place on October 12 in Moscow at the Dynamo home stadium. On October 16, Valery Karpin's team will play against the Kenyan team in Turkey.
“I agree that Cameroon is the strongest opponent over the last year and a half, this is a good team. Come support us! I have always said that if our leaders manage to agree to play in Russia, it will be good. Especially the match in Moscow is a fairy tale! There is not as much information on Kenya as there is on Cameroon, but African countries are quite strong and running, the work will be good,” Jikia told reporters.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) published a joint statement in February 2022, according to which Russian national teams and clubs are suspended from participation in international competitions for an indefinite period due to the events in Ukraine.
