The 2nd Western District Military Court, located in Moscow, received materials from the case regarding preparations for a terrorist attack against three residents of the Bryansk region. This information appeared on the court’s website, and Mediazona drew attention to it.
We are talking about Nikolai Tikhomirov, Daniil Kopylenko and Maxim Shatom. In addition to preparing for a terrorist attack by a group of people (Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code, paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), the last two are also charged with an article on extortion with the use of violence (paragraphs “a” and “c” of Part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code).
Cases against residents of the Bryansk region, according to the court file, will begin to be considered on the merits separately by different judges. This may mean that at least two of them, or all three, have entered into agreements to cooperate with the investigation.
In February, Baza wrote about the initiation of a case against 22-year-old Tikhomirov, 20-year-old Kopylenko and 21-year-old Shatoy. According to the telegram channel, residents of the city of Unecha are accused of preparing to set fire to the United Russia office on Popova Street and the military registration and enlistment office on Lenin Street.
With reference to a source familiar with the investigation, Baza claimed that the young people prepared incendiary mixtures, prepared a change of clothes, but did not have time to commit arson. Presumably, they did not do this because Shaty and Kopylenko were detained on another case — extortion.
