Kazakhstan has the technical ability to receive Russian gas into the country during its transit through Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliev, quoted by TASS.
Satkaliev noted that within the framework of the agreements there is the possibility of supplying gas to Kazakhstan depending on consumption plans in the future. He emphasized the availability of technical feasibility and added that the decision on the consumption of the provided volume of gas will be made based on the forecast balance of Kazakhstan.
The Minister also mentioned potential areas of use of this gas, such as electricity, industry and the domestic sector .
On October 7, the presidents of Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan launched the transit of Russian gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan via the Central Asia-Central gas pipeline.
