YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, October 17 A criminal case against the former Minister of Health of the Sakhalin Region has been sent to court, he is accused of causing damage worth 61 million rubles, the regional prosecutor's office reports.
«»The Prosecutor's Office of the Sakhalin Region approved an indictment in a criminal case against the former Minister of Health of the Sakhalin Region. He is accused under paragraph «c» of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official powers causing grave consequences)», — the supervisory authority said in a statement.
During the investigation of the criminal case, it was established that the ex-head of the Ministry of Health acquired the obviously unsuitable building of the former Chaika Hotel in the city of Kholmsk and the land plot underneath it to locate a children's clinic there. Subsequently, the acquired real estate was dismantled.
«As a result of the illegal actions of the accused, the regional budget suffered damage in the amount of 61 million rubles. The criminal case was sent to the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court of the Sakhalin Region for consideration on the merits,» the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
According to local media reports, we are talking about Alexei Pak, who headed the Ministry of Health of the Sakhalin Region from 2016 to 2019, and then was dismissed from this post.
