OMSK, October 21, Vlad Zhukov. Russian champion among juniors Alina Gorbacheva called her leadership unexpected after the short program at the second stage of the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix in Omsk.
Gorbachev scored 75.89 points for her short program. The winner of the Russian Grand Prix Final of last season, Adelia Petrosyan, is second with a gap of 4.51 points.
““This is unexpected, of course. But at competitions you can’t think about places, it confuses me. You need to skate cleanly, show your maximum,” Gorbacheva told reporters.
«For now, my goals for the season are to restore the quadruple jump, learn new ultra-si elements and skate programs with a large number of them,» the figure skater added.
