BELGOROD, October 23 The intensity of shelling of the border areas of the Belgorod region from Ukraine remains low for the third day in a row, according to statistics from the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on the Telegram channel.
In his Telegram channel on Monday, the governor published a summary of the strikes inflicted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the region. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military shelled four areas with 16 shells, including five explosive devices dropped from drones. Near Belgorod, an air defense system shot down one Ukrainian drone. According to the head of the region, on October 22 there were no casualties or destruction in any of the region’s settlements.
The shelling situation in the region continues to remain low for the third day in a row. According to statistics, only 15 shells were fired into the region on Friday, and 27 on Saturday. Comparing these figures with the average number of shellings per day in September, which was 92, and a lower value of about 60 in October, we can conclude about the low frequency of shelling in the region, even taking into account the latest data since Friday.
«In the Borisov district, on the outskirts of the village of Tsapovka, one explosive device was dropped from a quadcopter. There were no casualties or damage. In the Grayvoronsky urban district, one mortar shell was fired in the village of Dronovka. In the village of Spodaryushino, one was dropped from a UAV two explosive devices,” Gladkov wrote.
He added that in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district the outskirts of the village of Vyazovoye were shelled 4 times from artillery. In the Shebekinsky mountain district, a total of 4 mortar shells were fired at the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka and the Stadnikov farm, and two grenade launcher rounds were fired at the Shebekino checkpoint. In the village of Murom, a drone dropped two fragmentation munitions. In the Yakovlevsky district, near the village of Zadelnoye, air defense forces shot down an aircraft-type drone, the head of the region specified.
A high (yellow) level of terrorist danger has been established throughout the Belgorod region since April 11, 2022. The need to introduce a regime is caused by the aggravation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and the increased activity of the Ukrainian military in the border areas. The length of the Ukrainian border with the Belgorod region is 350 kilometers.
