GOST for non-alcoholic tonic drinks was recently adopted by the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification. This standard applies to all tonic drinks, including energy drinks, that do not contain alcohol.
The standard defines the classification of such drinks by appearance (transparent-opaque), by the degree of carbon dioxide saturation (carbonated-still), and by the method of processing (with or without the use of preservatives , pasteurized and unpasteurized, cold or hot pour, etc.).
Despite the fact that the standard does not apply to tea and coffee in their pure form, they can also be used to prepare other types of tonic drinks , and extracts. Also, caffeine itself or extracts of other plants that contain it (for example, guarana or mate) can be used as additives. You can also use ginseng, leuzea, radiola rosea, lemongrass and eleutherococcus.
In addition, each drink should contain no more than two tonic substances, collectively released by all additives. Another limitation is that the amount of caffeine and vitamins in one serving should not exceed the daily requirement.
Drinks should be transported and stored in sealed packaging at a temperature of 0 to 35 degrees.
