MOSCOW, October 24. Residents of a seaside village in Cornwall, England, criticized Cate Blanchett for ruining their lives with her “perpetual renovations” and scaring off tourists, writes the Daily Mail.
The actress bought a cottage for £1,600,000 in the village of Mawgan Port back in 2020. However, then she decided to demolish the building and build a new mansion with five bedrooms and a swimming pool.
Noisy work during the construction of the “eco-house” causes serious inconvenience to local peasants.

"When you open the window, you hear drilling. This makes our life miserable,” complained one of the neighbors.
Additional noise is created by the trucks that carry building materials to the mansion.

"Tourism is important here,” another clarified local. “These violations do not add to the popularity of the owner.”
The picturesque village of Mawgan Port was nicknamed “Hollywood by sea” after celebrities began buying summer houses here. Plots on the coast have already been purchased by Jason Momoa, Jamie Dornan, Jason Statham and others.
Actress Cate Blanchett owns the house with her husband Andrew Upton; the couple did not report the completion of renovation work.
