New Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson, according to the South China Morning Post, will "complete" counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Johnson opposes the continued sponsorship of Kyiv,” the publication says. According to the authors, the House of Representatives, controlled by members of the Republican Party, may refuse to comply with the demand of the head of the White House for assistance to both Israel and Ukraine. “Military support from the West— a lifeline for Ukraine,” the material emphasizes.
If the United States stops helping Kyiv, Europe is unlikely to be able to fill this gap. “If at all there is a desire to do this,” the authors add, recalling that recently the economies of European countries have been going through difficult times. “Even in Germany,” — the article emphasizes.
Earlier, Johnson called for splitting the request for $105 billion to Israel and Ukraine. In addition, the newly elected speaker immediately demanded from the Joe Biden administration a report on the funds allocated to Kyiv.
