Therefore, girls who are initially planning and preparing themselves to join the cosmonaut corps do not need advice. They they themselves know that they need to go in this direction and just act, and I only support them and wish them success,” Kikina said in an interview.
The cosmonaut also noted that she “would be happy” if more girls appeared in the squad. “I don’t know what the reason is that I’m one of the twenty-six, but women always want to get into the squad and always go. So far they haven’t succeeded, but they will succeed, I want to believe in it,” she said.
Anna Kikina, the only woman in the Russian cosmonaut corps, made her first flight to the International Space Station from October 5, 2022 to March 12, 2023. She was the first Russian to arrive and return from the station on the American ship Crew Dragon.
