MOSCOW, October 30 At the exhibition “Russia is closer to the East” of the Museum of Oriental Art as part of the international exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh More than 100 exhibits will be presented, in particular, from Dagestan, Adygea and Yakutia, said Ilya Zaitsev, Deputy General Director of the State Museum of Oriental Art for Exhibitions.
The State Museum of the East turned 105 on Monday.

«»This is a large-scale project, which is designed for at least five months. We are active participants in this process, we invite everyone to visit this exhibition starting on November 5, when our 13th pavilion opens. It is called “Russia is closer to the East.” We tried to rethink the role of our museum as an expert organization in this amazing process of selecting exhibits, expert assessment of this art of the peoples of our country, which our museum has been conducting for 105 years,” Zaitsev said at a press conference at the Russia Today multimedia press center.
According to him, the exhibition will feature more than 100 exhibits that represent the eastern culture of Russia — Chukotka, Dagestan, Adygea, the Volga region, Yakutia, Tuva and other regions.

«This exhibition will show what we have done over the past 50-60 years. These are masterpieces that our museum has identified, preserved, and popularized,» concluded Zaitsev.
The international exhibition and forum «Russia» will open on November 4 in Moscow on the territory of VDNKh. As Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin previously reported, the exhibition will also present the results of Russia’s cooperation with CIS partners in various industries.
