The Ostankino District Court fined writer Dmitry Glukhovsky 50 thousand rubles due to the absence of a “foreign agent” sign in his publications. Mediazona was informed about this by the press service of the court.
As Mediazona learned, the administrative protocol (part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code) was drawn up due to a post in his author’s public on VKontakte dated February 27. Then Glukhovsky asked readers to send photographs of his books, which in Russia began to be sold in black packaging due to his status as a “foreign agent.”
Glukhovsky was fined in the same administrative case this summer. Then he was fined 40 thousand rubles. In October, the Ostankino District Court also received a protocol on the failure to provide reports on the activities of “foreign agents” (Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code), drawn up against the writer.
The Ministry of Justice recognized Glukhovsky as a “foreign agent” in early October 2022. After this, Moscow libraries began to refuse the writer’s books, and in March the leadership of the Higher School of Economics demanded that they be removed from the university’s book depository.
In early August 2023, Glukhovsky was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison in the case of military “fakes” (points “c” and “e” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the exchange was Glukhovsky’s posts about the war in Ukraine on Instagram and Telegram.
