MOSCOW, Nov 3 As a result of a collision between a locomotive and a passenger train in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany, 16 people were injured, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 12.25 local time (14.25 Moscow time) at Itzehoe station.
“»When a locomotive was coupled to a stationary passenger train, a collision occurred , as a result of which 16 people on the train were injured,” the police said in a statement.
It is reported that 11 passengers on the Intercity high-speed train required hospitalization, while five more people refused it. All victims received minor injuries.
The railway tracks were dug up within 2.5 hours after the collision. The police began an investigation into the incident.
