VLADIVOSTOK, November 18 Heavy rainfall cut off nine settlements from transport links in the Terneysky district of Primorye, reports the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the region.
Previously, Primhydromet reported that the cyclone brought almost three months of precipitation from November 16 to 18 to the village of Terney, Primorsky Territory, where 121 millimeters of precipitation fell against a monthly norm of 44 millimeters.
“Due to the heavy rainfall in the Terneysky District, the water level in the Serebryanka River rose… Due to overflows on 3 sections of roads of regional importance, nine settlements were cut off (Malaya Kema, Amgu, Maksimovka, Ust-Sobolevka, Svetlaya , Edinka, Samarga, Agzu, Peretychekha),” the message says.
It is specified that due to the river flood, eight adjacent plots in the village of Terney were also flooded. Work to restore the driveways is planned after the water level recedes.
A storm warning is in effect in Primorye due to the approach of an active cyclone. On Friday, it snowed in some areas of Primorye, and in some places it rained. On the Spassk-Varfolomeevka highway, the movement of trucks and buses was limited due to wet snow, but it was later restored. On Saturday, due to bad weather, intra-regional flights to the villages of Kavalerovo and Plastun were canceled, as well as bus flights from Vladivostok to the villages of Terney, Dalnegorsk, Olga and back. Car traffic has been disrupted on three sections of roads in the Khankaisky, Krasnoarmeysky and Terneysky districts of Primorye, authorities reported.
According to weather forecasters, heavy precipitation (rain, sleet, snow) will still persist in the northeast of the region on Saturday. In the rest of the territory, precipitation will stop.
