Even though the SUV has a name familiar to Russians, in the neighboring country it is still a separate, completely new model. There, the SUV crossover is offered with two turbo engines to choose from.
In its homeland, this Geely crossover is called Boyue L; it is considered the second generation of the model, which in Russia is now presented as Atlas Pro. But in the countries of the Middle East, the five-door is positioned as a completely new SUV with the name Starray. Now the cross is available for order in Kazakhstan, and there it is Geely Atlas. True, in the neighboring country there is no talk of a second generation, because the crossover that we know under the name Atlas Pro is sold on the Kazakh market under the global export name Azkarra.
Let us remember that the new SUV is built on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform, created by the Chinese together with Volvo (the Swedish brand is owned by Geely), while the Azkarra/Atlas Pro is based on Geely’s own NL “trolley”. The length of the new product is 4670 mm, width – 1900 mm, height – 1705 mm, wheelbase – 2777 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of our Geely Atlas Pro are: 4544/1831/1713 mm, the distance between the axles is 2670 mm. The cross-country ground clearance for Kazakhstan is 215 mm versus 171 mm for the current Russian SUV.
As in China, on the Kazakh market the model is available with 1.5 and 2.0 petrol turbo engines: the base one produces 174 hp. and 290 Nm, the second – 218 hp. and 325 Nm (in China, the power of a one and a half liter engine is 181 hp). Both are combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, front-wheel drive only. The Chinese still have access to a hybrid, but our neighbors do not have such a version. It was announced that the Geely Atlas with 1.5T will reach the first “hundred” in 9.7 seconds, with 2.0T – in 8.2 seconds. Maximum speed is 190 and 215 km/h, respectively.

In Kazakhstan, the SUV is offered in three trim levels: Comfort, Premium and Flagship. At the same time, the 1.5 turbo engine is only available in the initial version. All versions have LED running lights, roof rails, rear parking sensors, rain sensor, heated windshield and windshield washer nozzles, leather interior, heated front seats and steering wheel, virtual tidy (10.2 inches), multimedia system with a vertical tablet ( 13.2 inches), keyless entry system and engine start button, front airbags. The cheapest cross also has 18-inch wheels, single-zone climate control, a rear view camera and simple cruise.

The price of the new Geely Atlas ranges from 13,990,000 to 16,490,000 tenge (excluding shares), which is equivalent to approximately 2,658,000 — 3,133,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. That is, in the Kazakh range of the brand, the SUV is located between the Azkarra/Atlas Pro (from 12,990,000 tenge or 2,468,000 rubles) and the Tugella cross-platform cross-coupe (from 18,490,000 tenge or 3,512,000 rubles).
The new SUV has not yet been officially announced for Russia. Meanwhile, earlier a certificate for a Geely model with the factory index FX11 appeared in the Rosstandart database — it was under this designation that the company initially promoted the crossover in its native China. It is possible that the SUV is preparing to enter our market, and in the Russian Federation it can also be positioned as a separate new model, and not as a “second” Atlas: at the beginning of the year, Geely registered the trade name Starray in Russia.
