
MOSCOW, November 21. Relations between the Russian Federation and Tajikistan are developing progressively and are at a very high level, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This year marks 30 years since the signing of our basic document, an agreement on friendship, mutual assistance, and strategic partnership. This agreement came into force finally in November 1993. Our relations are developing progressively and are at a very high level, suffice it to say that Russia is the main trade and economic partner — we occupy first place in terms of trade turnover, 22.9% of Tajikistan’s trade turnover is accounted for to Russia,» Putin said at a meeting with the head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to him, the intergovernmental commission is working well, the next meeting of which is scheduled for next month in Moscow.
Putin added that supplies to Russia are increasing significantly Russian products from Tajikistan. “First of all, agricultural products – the growth was 67%,” he noted.
