SOTA publication and Vector magazine reported that on November 22, police took Andrei Lebedev, a student of the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University, from his couple and took him to the military registration and enlistment office, and then to a collection point. Lebedev’s mother said that her son is now in a military unit in Noginsk, near Moscow.
According to Vector, a police officer who came to the university said that Lebedev was wanted as a draft dodger. “The student went on academic leave for 2 years, which is why, according to Russian laws, the deferment actually “burns out,” the magazine notes.
He was taken to an emergency medical examination at the military registration and enlistment office in the Ramenki district and assigned fitness category “B”, and then sent to a collection point on Ugreshskaya Street. Lebedev told SOTA that he could not serve due to health problems.
On the evening of November 23, it became known that Lebedev was taken from the assembly point. The student’s mother told Vector that he called her and told her that he was put in an Emergency Ministry car. “In the car they said that he would serve in Moscow. This is all we know,” she added.
