WASHINGTON, November 25 Social network X of billionaire Elon Musk may lose up to $75 million by the end of the year due to the refusal of some advertisers to cooperate after the businessman's remarks about Jews, the New York Times reports.
“Social network X could lose up to $75 million in advertising revenue by the end of the year after dozens of major brands suspended cooperation with it,” the report said.
The newspaper refers to an internal document of the company, which states that up to 200 companies may suspend cooperation. According to the sales department of the social network, if advertisers do not return, then losses by the end of the year could amount to the specified amount, the report says.
Musk was previously criticized for an allegedly anti-Semitic comment under the publication of one of the users on the social network X. He wrote that Jews “spread hatred of whites,” but asked not to treat them the same way, and Musk called this thesis “true” . After the businessman’s statement, a number of large companies (for example, Walt Disney, Apple and Sony Pictures) suspended advertising on the social network. The entrepreneur promised legal action against all participants in the campaign against him.
