DONETSK, November 24A civilian was injured as a result of the explosion of a Lepestok anti-personnel mine in Novoluganskoye, DPR head Denis Pushilin said in his Telegram channel.
«As a result of an explosion at the Lepestok plant in Novoluganskoe, a man born in 1966 was injured — he was taken to the hospital with a traumatic amputation of his right foot,» the message says.

Pushilin also said that the girl, who was injured when Ukrainian ammunition was dropped from a drone in Staromikhailovka, was taken with shrapnel wounds to a medical facility in the region and is receiving the necessary assistance.

The village of Novoluganskoe is located several kilometers northeast of Gorlovka, one of the largest cities in the Donetsk agglomeration.
The Lepestok anti-personnel high-explosive mine (PFM-1) is designed to damage the legs and is triggered when a person steps on it. Installed on the ground using remote mining equipment. It is an almost exact copy of the American BLU-43/B (Dragontooth) mine. The DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine has repeatedly recorded the use of cluster munitions filled with Lepestok mines by Ukrainian troops in the cities of the republic.
The Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN previously distributed a letter to the Security Council about Kiev’s use of Lepestok anti-personnel mines against the civilian population in Donbass. The letter was also sent to the UN Secretary General. Ukraine ratified the Ottawa Convention in 2005, which prohibits the use, stockpiling and production of anti-personnel mines. Thus, Kiev is violating its international obligations.
