“Contrary to the expectations of our enemies, the economies of Russia and Belarus quickly recovered, compensated for the losses of last year and show relatively good growth rates. To a certain extent, this became possible thanks to the implementation of bilateral cooperation to strengthen the Union State and the implementation of 28 union programs. At this stage, some of them have already been completed, and a number of the remaining ones are at the final stage of implementation,” said Gryzlov.

According to him, Belarus is a time-tested supplier of high-quality equipment for Russian agricultural producers. Minsk supplies Belarusian tractors, combines, grain dryers and other equipment to the Russian Federation.
He also added that in a short period of time, the countries were able to redirect supplies of mineral fertilizers, create new channels and mutual settlements. Among the achieved results, he also mentioned systematic work on the integration of information systems for traceability of goods, veterinary and phytosanitary control. “Our countries have been fruitfully cooperating in the agricultural sector for many years. The main result of such interaction is ensuring food security and social stability. Considering the specifics and specialization of Russian-Belarusian agricultural production, we can confidently say that our producers complement each other, respond to needs, and ensure supplies certain types of raw materials and food. Of course, in some market segments there is also healthy competition. As a result, consumers themselves vote with rubles for this or that product on store shelves,» noted the Russian Ambassador.
He also recalled that about 80% of Belarusian food exports are oriented to Russia. “This fact suggests that high-quality Belarusian products occupy a rightful place on the tables of Russians. According to data for the past year, Belarus, with a share of 16.4%, confidently ranks first among countries importing food products in Russia. In this segment, positive results remain for Belarus has a foreign trade balance that makes a significant contribution to the stable functioning of the country’s economy,” Gryzlov said.
