IZHEVSK, December 15 AvtoVAZ intends to produce about 30 thousand gasoline and electric Lada Largus at the plant in Izhevsk in 2024, company president Maxim Sokolov told reporters.
«The volume that is planned to be produced for cars with internal combustion engines (internal combustion engines — ed.) is currently still being approved by the board of directors, the meeting of which will be held before the end of the year. But our proposal is about 30 thousand cars with both internal combustion engines , and electric,» he said, answering a question about Largus production volume next year.
Sokolov clarified that the production volumes of electric Largus will depend on government support measures: whether all electric car manufacturers will receive it next year or only highly localized ones.
AvtoVAZ owns production sites in Tolyatti, Izhevsk and St. Petersburg. In mid-May last year, the French Renault transferred its share in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state ownership of the Russian Federation. Now the brand consists of four families of models: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. Sales of brand cars in 2022 amounted to 188.6 thousand (-46% by 2021).
