A Red Book Amur tiger was caught in Primorye, which came to the village and tore the dog to pieces. This was reported in the telegram channel of the regional Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife Protection.
A tiger attacked a dog in the village of Dmitrievka on December 8. The animal ran away when it saw people. Hunting inspectors arrived at the scene, but the tiger did not enter the village again. It turned out that he had a paw injury. At the same time, local residents wrote on social networks that this was not the first time he had attacked dogs.
As a result, on the night of December 17, the animal was caught.
"In the area of the seaside village of Dmitrievka An Amur tiger was caught, which in early December showed several episodes of conflict behavior, killing several dogs there,” the ministry reported.
It is specified that this is a male weighing 150-170 kg.
The decision to catch the animal was made because it could not be driven away from the populated area. The fact that the tiger constantly appears in the surrounding area was determined using camera traps and analyzing its behavior.
The animal was taken to the Amur Tiger Rehabilitation Center. He will be examined, and if he is healthy, he will be released away from people to an area with a good food supply. If not, then the tiger will be left to live in captivity.
