MOSCOW, December 18 Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on his re-election as president of Egypt, according to the Kremlin website.
The current President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi won by a huge margin in the first round of the presidential elections in the country, gaining 89.6% of the votes, the head said National Election Commission Hazem Badawi.
«Dear Mr. President, dear friend, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your re-election to the presidency. Your convincing victory in the elections has become clear evidence of widespread recognition of your services in solving current socio-economic and foreign policy challenges facing «Egypt. It is difficult to overestimate your personal contribution to building and strengthening the Russian-Egyptian strategic partnership. I would like to confirm your readiness to continue constructive joint work to further develop the entire range of bilateral ties, as well as interaction in international affairs, including within the BRICS framework,» — the message says.
Putin wished the President of Egypt new success in such a responsible activity at the head of state, as well as good health and prosperity.
