The three-row SUV has been transformed both outside and inside. In addition, in some places the model switched to a two-liter turbo engine.
This large Geely crossover debuted in 2020 — in China it is called HaoYue, but the export version is called Okavango. At home, the model has already undergone three modernizations: the first was in 2021, last year they carried out a full-scale restyling, at the same time assigning the prefix L to the cross, and in the fall of this year the SUV was once again refreshed. However, the “global” Geely Okavango has only now been updated, and the brand has decided to skip the “intermediate” stage two years ago. That is, the restyled global cross is the 2022 Geely HaoYue L with different nameplates. This Okavango is presented in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait (and without any prefixes); later it will appear in other countries of the Middle East, as well as in Southeast Asia and Latin America.
As mentioned above, the updated export version is no different in appearance from the SUV intended for China. If we compare it with the pre-reform Geely Okavango, the model began to look much more aggressive: the SUV acquired an impressive radiator grille with vertical wedges, different bumpers, headlights and taillights. The length increased by 25 mm to 4860 mm, the width of the cross added 10 mm (now 1910 mm), but the height, on the contrary, was cut by 10 mm to 1770 mm. The wheelbase has been increased by 10 mm — now 2825 mm.

3/3 < p>The seven-seater cabin has a new steering wheel, gear selector and door cards. The air deflectors were made in the form of a single horizontal plate, plus the central tunnel was modernized. The list of standard equipment for the Middle Eastern Geely Okavango includes leather upholstery, ventilated front seats (the driver's seat also has memory settings), virtual instrumentation (10.25 inches), a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch diagonal tablet, climate control, all-round cameras visibility, cruise control. For an additional fee, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging for a smartphone and an electric tailgate are provided.

As in China, in the Middle East the updated Geely Okavango is offered with a 2.0 Drive-E petrol turbo-four from Volvo, which produces 218 hp. and 325 Nm. The engine is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, front-wheel drive only. The pre-reform export crossover has a 1.5 turbo engine (177 hp), complemented by a 48-volt starter-generator: it is possible that this engine will be left in some markets.

In Saudi Arabia, for example, for a restyled crossover they ask for a minimum of 97,175 local rials, which is equivalent to about 2,335,000 rubles at the current exchange rate.
In Russia, the large Geely crossover is not legally represented, which, however, , did not prevent dealers from organizing “parallel” deliveries. Meanwhile, according to unofficial information, next year the brand itself will add the three-row Okavango SUV to its Russian lineup — it will probably be an updated SUV.
