The Ministry of Defense called it “inappropriate” for those mobilized to return home before Vladimir Putin signed a decree on “completion of the period of partial mobilization.” This is stated in the department’s response to the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Boris Vishnevsky.
Vishnevsky clarifies that in the fall, reacting to “a collective appeal from the wives of the mobilized,” he proposed to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to limit the service life of those called up for mobilization to one year.
“The term of military service of citizens of the Russian Federation conscripted as part of partial mobilization expires upon completion of the period of partial mobilization on the basis of the relevant Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Establishing a different period of military service for citizens of the Russian Federation called up as part of partial mobilization is considered inappropriate,” the response says.
In early November, military correspondent Alexander Sladkov wrote in his telegram channel that he learned from Vladimir Putin that that mobilized and contract soldiers will fight “until the end of the Northern Military District.” This was his reaction to the demands of the mobilized relatives to rotate at the front.
