
ULAN-UDE, December 21 A resident of Buryatia, whose son fell into a sewer manhole in June 2019 and spent the night there, was sentenced to 200 hours of compulsory labor, reports press service of the prosecutor's office of the republic.
According to the supervisory authority, a resident of the Ivolginsky district of Buryatia was found guilty of committing a crime under Art. 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (improper performance of duties to raise a minor by a parent, if this act is associated with cruel treatment of the minor). It was established that the woman, having a son born in 2013, abused alcohol, “did not care about his health, safety and left the child unattended.”
«»In June 2019, the boy, left without the control of his mother, fell into a sewer manhole, where he spent the whole night. In December 2022 year, the child ran away from home wearing clothes inappropriate for the weather conditions,” the report says.
It is noted that repeated bringing to administrative responsibility for improper performance of parental responsibilities had no effect on the woman. In November, she was deprived of parental rights, and the boy was placed in a social institution.
““The magistrate of the judicial district of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Ulan-Ude, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced her to 200 hours of compulsory work,” the court noted.
The verdict has not entered into legal force.
