MOSCOW, December 26 Russia is successfully developing drone swarm technologies, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces are lagging behind in their use, Maria Berlinskaya, director of the Ukrainian Aerial Intelligence Support Center, told the Ukrayinska Pravda channel.< br />““Now the Russians are moving towards drone swarm technology and, this is very important, towards an automatic optical guidance and navigation system,” said Berlinskaya.
According to her, this technology allows the drone to identify targets thanks to machine learning . The expert explained that this system will allow Russian drones to become invulnerable to electronic warfare.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces, the expert added, are experiencing an acute shortage of drones and ammunition for them. In addition, the Ukrainian army needs to develop new systems to combat Russian drones, since old methods of fighting will stop working with the introduction of optical navigation system technology, she complained.
Previously, Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said that the company creates drones capable of striking the enemy as part of a swarm of drones. The weapon is being developed for the needs of the Russian army in the special operation zone, he specified. Chemezov also recalled that the troops are already using Lancet drones developed by Kalashnikov, which have shown excellent results in battle.
