MOSCOW, December 29 Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation registered a group of voters created to support the self-nomination of candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation Anatoly Batashev, as well as its authorized representatives, follows from the resolution.
Environmental blogger Anatoly Batashev submitted documents to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation to be nominated as a candidate for the presidency of Russia by way of self-nomination on December 27.
«Register a group of voters created to support the self-nomination of a candidate for the position of President of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Gennadievich Batashev. Register authorized representatives of the specified group of voters in the amount of three people,» the resolution says.
Mikhail Gaidai, Vyacheslav Palanto, Alexander Chirko are registered as authorized representatives of the group of voters.
Alexander Chirko is registered as the authorized representative for financial matters of candidate Batashev.
The candidate is also allowed to open a special election account to form an election fund.
According to the law, a self-nominated candidate in presidential elections must collect at least 300 thousand voter signatures in his support, so that each subject of the Russian Federation has at least 7.5 thousand signatures living on its territory. Signatures in support of the candidate must be submitted to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation by January 31, after which the Central Election Commission will check them, review all documents and, within 10 days, make a decision on whether to register the candidate for the elections or to refuse it.
Russian presidential elections are scheduled for March 17, 2024.
