A suspect in the murder of a 90-year-old man has been detained in the Moscow region, the Investigative Committee reports. Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk notes that this is a suspect in the murder of Roman Legoida, the father of the head of the press service of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The body was found in the village of Meshcherino in a ravine near the road, as the Investigative Committee writes — 90-year-old Legoida Sr. attacked for 100 thousand rubles. Some of the money was found in the suspect’s apartment.
Judging by the interrogation footage, Legoyda Sr. gave the suspect a ride in a car, and he was stabbed to death in it. According to channels 112 and the Cheka-OGPU, the detainee is 25-year-old Adam Shcherbakov, who was convicted of robbery, fought in «Storm Z», pardoned, deserted from the unit and put on the wanted list.
«Wandering in search of money, in a store near Moscow, he met 90-year-old Roman Legoida, who came there for bread. The deserter told the elderly man about his “exploits” at SVO, "cryed" to fate. Roman Legoyda volunteered to give him a ride in his car,” writes the Cheka-OGPU.
The son of the murdered man, Vladimir Legoida, has been heading the Russian Orthodox Church’s public relations department since 2015.
