MOSCOW, December 30The draft free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Egypt is at a high level of readiness, said Dmitry Birichevsky, director of the economic cooperation department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“At the moment we can say that the draft free trade agreement is at a high level of readiness, all parties are committed to completing the negotiation process,” he said in an interview with the agency.
Birichevsky noted that work on agreements of this kind requires an integrated and scrupulous approach, since it affects the trade and economic interests of six countries at once, including the Eurasian five.
“»There should be no rush in such matters. The emphasis is not on the timing of signing, but, first of all, on the quality and detailed study of all modalities of the future trade deal to achieve a mutually beneficial balance,» he said.
At the end of December, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Egypt is “at a very advanced stage,” noting that the Russian Federation is interested in reaching the agreement as soon as possible signing the document.
