The Central Election Commission accepted documents from them for registration on January 1.
In total, the commission received 33 notifications about events related to the nomination of candidates for the post of president, including nine from political parties, another 24 from citizens who declared about your self-nomination. Of these, 15 people submitted documents to the Central Election Commission of Russia.
«Four applicants for candidacy were unable to fully comply with the requirements of the law, and the documents they submitted contained such gross errors that the Central Election Commission was forced to refuse to register the commissioners representatives of these candidates,” its chairman Ella Pamfilova said at a meeting of the commission.
The Russian presidential elections were scheduled for March 17. Voting will take place over three days — from March 15 to 17.
Nominees from parliamentary parties do not need to collect voter signatures; they can submit documents for registration until the end of January. The CEC must decide on the registration of all candidates no later than February 10.
