The first batch of the same volume arrived on January 3.
Chicken eggs in Russia in 2023 have risen in price by about one and a half times. As Vladimir Putin explained at the final press conference, this was caused by an increase in demand, while production did not increase and imports were not opened on time.
In mid-December, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev announced that the department was expecting supplies from Azerbaijan and Turkey, which will allow prices to be adjusted.
From December 19 to 24, two batches of eggs from Azerbaijan arrived in Russia.
The government allowed the import of up to 1.2 billion duty-free from January 1 to June 30 pieces of chicken eggs.
