
MOSCOW, January 15 Russia's international reserves at the beginning of the day on January 1 increased to $598.592 billion from 592.352 billion as of December 1, the Bank of Russia reported.
Thus, in December reserves increased by $6.24 billion, or 1.05%.
International (gold and foreign exchange) reserves of the Russian Federation are highly liquid foreign assets available to the Bank of Russia and the government. Reserves consist of monetary gold, special drawing rights (SDRs), reserve position with the IMF, and foreign currency holdings (other reserve assets).
