
WARSAW, Jan. 22 Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk heads to on a visit to Ukraine, according to the office of the head of government.
“Prime Minister Donald Tusk begins a visit to Kyiv, where he will meet, among other things, with President Vladimir Zelensky and Prime Minister Denis Shmygal,” the message says.
Recently, relations between Poland and Ukraine have been experiencing a serious crisis.
Polish carriers, later joined by farmers, blocked automobile checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. They are demanding the reinstatement of a previously abolished permit system for Ukrainian commercial carriers, with exceptions for humanitarian aid and supplies for Ukrainian troops. More recently, it was difficult to persuade carriers to suspend their protest.
Recently, Polish-Ukrainian relations have become significantly more complicated due to the embargo on Ukrainian grain. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Ukraine Taras Kachka said that the country would introduce an embargo on some Polish agricultural products in response to the extension of the unilateral ban on the import of Ukrainian grain. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, in response to this, promised to expand the Polish list of products prohibited for import from Ukraine.
