In the houses of residents of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, chandeliers and furniture swayed. Some residents of multi-storey buildings left their apartments and stood in the courtyards for about half an hour, fearing aftershocks.
According to the Institute of Seismology of Kyrgyzstan, an earthquake of magnitude 7 occurred at 00.09 local time (21.09 Moscow time) in China near the border with Kyrgyzstan, 339 kilometers from Bishkek. In the settlements of the republic closest to the epicenter, the intensity of the tremors was about 5 points.
No casualties or destruction have been reported on the territory of Kyrgyzstan yet.
