The Kirovsky District Court of Ufa arrested Ilyas Bayguskarov, who participated in protests in support of environmental activist Fail Alsynov, for seven days. A SOTAvision correspondent reported this from the court.

In January, comrades-in-arms gathered several times at the court in the city of Baymak, where Alsynov, because of his speech against gold miners were tried under an extremist article about inciting hatred. Because of the announcement of the hearing on January 15, which was attended by hundreds of people, a protocol was drawn up against Bayguskarov on organizing an unapproved rally (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).
On the day of the verdict on January 17, hundreds of people were again at the court. Police dispersed the protesters, including using stun grenades and tear gas; They threw snowballs in response. As a result, a criminal case was opened against Baiguskarov and at least four other people for mass riots (Article 212 of the Criminal Code). Some detainees were also accused of using violence against security forces (Article 318 of the Criminal Code). All of them, except Bayguskarov, have already been sent to a pre-trial detention center.
On the day of the protest, Bayguskarov was first detained at the court and released, and then on the night of January 18 he was detained again — this time in Ufa. Today he was taken to court due to an administrative protocol. Due to errors in the document, the police had to take the activist back to the department, and then correct inaccuracies, such as mixed up dates, right in the courtroom, despite the objections of the lawyer.
