MOSCOW, February 5 The Russian Embassy in Senegal recommends that those in country, Russian citizens should avoid crowded places due to possible protests, the Russian diplomatic mission reported.
““In connection with possible mass protests in Senegal related to the cancellation of the presidential elections scheduled for February 25 of this year, we recommend that all Russian citizens in the country avoid crowded places,” says the message on Telegram -channel of the Russian Embassy in Senegal.
Tear gas was previously used in Senegal to disperse people who had gathered near the building of the National Assembly amid the postponement of the presidential elections, AFP reports. Senegalese leader Macky Sall announced an indefinite postponement of the presidential elections originally scheduled for February 25. The Senegalese president said he would launch a national dialogue to create conditions for holding “free, transparent and inclusive elections,” but did not set a new date.
