““These companies represent almost 30% of banana exports to Russia,” he said.
““It is important to note that the export of bananas to Russia is not closed, today only these five companies, we continue to export generally as normal,” Salazar added.
Earlier in February, Rosselkhoznadzor, concerned about the situation with the supply of bananas from Ecuador, in which the humpback fly was detected, asked the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the South American state to suspend the certification of five exporters of these fruits. Also, a couple of days later, Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the authorized bodies of the Netherlands, Germany, Latvia, and Lithuania with a request to stop certifying carnations from Ecuador due to the detection of flower thrips in it. Deliveries were made through these countries of the European Union.
