In one night alone, the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out 50 raids towards the fortified area
The largest attack of all time with corrective aircraft bombs on the fortified areas of Avdeevka was carried out on the night of February 8th. According to some reports, our air forces carried out up to 50 sorties to one of the hottest sectors of the front.
Details of the unexpected maneuver also became known, which took the enemy by surprise and actually left him without supplies.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces seriously began to complain about serious interruptions in the work of Starlink, which could not but affect the flights of enemy UAVs.
The night of February 8 in Avdeevka turned out to be extremely hot. Around midnight, the Russian Aerospace Forces began carrying out combat missions to weaken the enemy’s defenses in the city and thereby pave the way for our troops.
The results of the work of the Russian Aerospace Forces were heard even in Donetsk. As residents noted, throughout the city “the walls of houses were shaking, peals of thunder were heard over the city.” Eyewitnesses say the ground shook even on the outskirts of Donetsk from the explosion of bombs.
In just two hours of work, more than a dozen one and a half ton high-explosive bombs were fired at enemy fortified areas. In total, about 50 sorties were carried out.
But it was not only our spotting bombs that caused a lot of trouble for the enemy. The Ukrainian Armed Forces began to complain in their channels about serious interruptions of Starlink, on which the operation of drones, which play a key role for the defending enemy in Avdiivka, directly depends. Interruptions in the global satellite system were also confirmed by our military. According to them, Starlink over Avdeevka has been “failing” for almost two months. Over the last week, the work got worse and worse until it finally stopped on the night of February 8th.
According to Ukrainian sources, we have serious advances in the northern part of Avdiivka. At the same time, a maneuver that the enemy clearly did not expect helped liberate an important area.
As it became known, soldiers of the 114th and 30th Samara brigades broke through the enemy’s defenses from the Avdeevsky quarry and entered the city limits, then reaching the railway bridge. At the same time as the motorized rifles, the 115th special forces brigade of the Russian Guard entered the city, which was “tailored” for street fighting. As military experts write, it was the unexpected appearance of special forces that made it possible to cut Avdeevka at its narrowest point — from the railway bridge to the main transport artery of Avdievka, through which, according to approximate estimates, the ten-thousand-strong enemy group is supplied. Thus, virtually all of it may soon end up in the boiler. According to some estimates, the distance between the northern and southern positions is now three kilometers.
According to the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard for the DPR, Alexander Khodakovsky, now in Avdeevka there is a situation similar to Mariupol. He, in particular, notes that the length of Azovstal, in which the most motivated security forces at one time held the defense, is about nine kilometers at its longest diameter. Avdeevka, Khodakovsky claims, is approximately the same size and a similar situation is developing around it:
“The enemy is localized, deprived of normal supplies, not yet surrounded, but also not free to maneuver. We can hammer it, gradually erasing it from the face of the earth along with the remains of buildings — it is in our hands. The cannonade, by the way, does not stop for a day. But he can leave or surrender, as he surrendered in Mariupol. Whatever the cost of the fortifications created near Avdeevka, with our reasonable approach the result will be similar,” the commander wrote in his Telegram channel.
