YAROSLAVL, February 13. Police in the Yaroslavl region detained a trash streamer who published videos of beating people and later threatened the head of the Safe Internet League Ekaterina Mizulina, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk said on Tuesday in her Telegram channel.
Previously The head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, wrote on her Telegram channel that thanks to her subscribers, she drew attention to “a certain trash streamer Aslan from Yaroslavl, who beat up a man live on YouTube.” Viewers claimed that such beatings occur constantly during broadcasts, and therefore Mizulina sent an appeal to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to conduct an investigation. Later, the head of the League reported that the trash streamer began to threaten her with violence.

“My colleagues from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Yaroslavl region identified the trash streamer who distributed a scandalous video online, including beating people live. Currently, the young man has been taken to the police department for investigation,” Volk wrote. According to her, an investigation is being carried out, based on the results of which the streamer’s actions will be given a legal assessment.

Volk published a video of the man’s arrest — in it he says that he insulted Ekaterina Mizulina. “I admit my guilt, it’s my fault that I started insulting her,” says the streamer.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl region and other law enforcement agencies in the region do not comment on the story with the trash streamer.

The State Duma is currently considering a bill to counter the spread of trash streams — recently the Duma Committee on Information Policy recommended adopting the document in the first reading. The consideration may take place at a plenary session next Thursday, February 15.

The bill proposes to deprive trash streamers of an audience and the opportunity to earn money from such content on the Internet. The content is proposed to be included in a unified register of Internet pages prohibited in Russia. Additionally, it is proposed that owners of social networks be required to block such content.
In addition, on January 25, the State Duma adopted in the first reading two bills on punishment for trash streams, providing, among other things, for fines of up to 700 thousand rubles.
