MOSCOW, February 13 A case of theft of more than 200 million rubles allocated from the budget for the implementation of the Pushkin Card youth support program was sent to the Basmanny District Court of Moscow. reported the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The department approved the indictment against Viktor Yakubov, Emil Gurbanov and Ilya Safonov under the article “Fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale.”
According to investigators, they registered on the PRO.Culture.RF platform as organizers of cultural events. The defendants rented concert venues in Moscow and organized performances by artists. At the same time, they offered the owners of the Pushkin Cards to purchase tickets “without the purpose of visiting them.” The volume of tickets sold obviously and many times exceeded the spectator capacity of the rented venues.
The defendants reimbursed the cost of tickets as part of a social support program for youth, and the visibility of attending events was ensured by extras attracted for a monetary reward. As a result, they caused damage to the Russian budget and JSC Post Bank, which issued Pushkin Cards.
The defendants in the case were taken into custody. The Investigative Committee clarified that their property worth more than 110 million rubles was seized.
