At Sheremetyevo airport, a “grenade” was found in a passenger’s hand luggage
At Sheremetyevo Airport, an object resembling an explosive device was found on a passenger during a search of his hand luggage. Anna Zakharenkova, director of the airport's public relations directorate, told reporters about this.
She said that in the morning security officers at the security checkpoint in terminal C found an object in the hand luggage of one of the passengers that looked like an explosive device. The police were called to the scene. Passengers and employees were redirected to another entrance.
Zakharenkova added that explosives experts from the Russian Guard arrived at the scene of the discovery of the object. As it turned out, it was a grenade-shaped lighter that posed no threat. The inspection point continued to operate as normal.
