ROSTOV-ON-DON, February 19, Yulia Nasulina. The magistrate court in Volgodonsk, Rostov region, imposed a fine of 80 thousand rubles on local resident Yuri Kravtsov, who published on the social network a video illustrating his crucifixion in a mocking manner, a court spokesman said.
“Kravtsov was given a fine of 80 thousand rubles,” he said.
According to the court, on October 24, Kravtsov organized a theatrical performance to celebrate Halloween at the Rendezvous shopping and entertainment complex in Volgodonsk . During the theatrical performance, Kravtsov lay down on the base of a wooden cross, and his arms, legs and body were fixed. The assistants lifted him up from the floor on the cross, depicting a crucifixion. Subsequently, he posted video and photographic materials on the Internet, mockingly illustrating his crucifixion on a wooden cross.
As law enforcement officers reported, Kravtsov showed clear disrespect for society and offended the religious feelings of believers “by demonstrating his crucifixion on a wooden cross in a mocking manner in a public place.” A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
