MOSCOW, February 21, Vasily Bogdanov. Senior coach of the Russian national team in cross-country skiing, Yuri Borodavko stated that there is both competition and human relations between skiers and biathletes.
Earlier, the President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, told reporters that she does not consider Russian skiers and biathletes to be one family.
“»We must understand that sports, of course, compete with each other. There are some contradictions in the places where training camps and competitions are held. If a certain point is occupied by biathletes, skiers can no longer get there. It also happened that we found suitable place, which was later occupied by biathletes. Therefore, there is some kind of struggle, this is normal. Each sport must develop independently. But this does not negate the human relations between coaches, athletes, functionaries. For example, I communicate well with Mikhail Shashilov, everyone also knows about (Alexander) Legkov’s friendship with Anton Shipulin,” Borodavko said.
From February 23 to 24, the Legkov Race will be held in Peresvet (Moscow region), in which Russian skiers and biathletes will take part.
