MOSCOW, 26 Feb British investment banker and family businessman Rothschild — Lord Jacob Rothschild — died at the age of 88, according to the page of the Waddesdon Estate, managed by the Rothschild Foundation, on the social network X.

Jacob Rothschild began his career in the family bank in 1963, after which he became one of the founders of the Group of Insurance Companies. In 2002, the late Queen Elizabeth II awarded him the Order of Merit.
The Rothschilds are a European dynasty of bankers and public figures of Jewish origin, dating back to the end of the 18th century. They bear the title of baron. Since the mid-19th century, they have been considered one of the richest and most influential families in the world; in France, the surname Rothschild became a household name for a rich man.
