WASHINGTON, 28 Feb. The American authorities are aimed at destabilizing the internal political situation in Russia before the presidential elections, an example of this is Russophobic hysteria, said the Russian Embassy in Washington.
“»Russophobic hysteria artificially whipped up in the United States confirms the focus of the American authorities on destabilizing the internal political situation in our country on the eve of the presidential elections,» the Russian diplomatic mission said.
At the same time, the embassy accused Washington of «duplicitous approaches» on human rights issues.
«Calling for freedom of speech abroad and respect for democratic values, here they bashfully hush up their own sins and shortcomings. Among them: police brutality, racial discrimination, numerous cases of hatred on religious grounds, aggressive imposition of the neoliberal agenda,» the diplomatic mission added.
According to the embassy, even journalists in the United States are wondering the question “why don’t the American authorities direct their irrepressible energy into useful channels” — for example, to resolve the crisis on the southern border.
