MOSCOW, February 28 In Russia, GDP growth in January accelerated to 4.6 percent in annual terms, according to a review by the Ministry of Economic Development.
«According to the Ministry of Economic Development, in January GDP exceeded last year's level by 4.6 percent year-on-year after growing by 4.4 percent year-on-year in December,» the document says.
According to the first estimate of Rosstat, over the past year this figure increased by 3.6 percent and amounted to 171.041 trillion rubles at current prices.

In February, the Central Bank raised its forecast for the country's GDP growth this year from 0.5 -1.5 to one or two percent. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Economic Development, it will increase by 2.3 percent.
In addition, in the January report, the IMF significantly increased the growth forecast for the Russian economy for 2024 — to 2.6 percent , that is, by 1.5 percentage points compared to the previous estimate from October 2023.
