LUGANSK, February 29. Employees of the FSB department detained two residents of the Lugansk People's Republic for collecting data on the Russian military, their places of deployment and transferring this information to Ukraine, the regional department of the special service reported.
“»The Russian FSB Directorate for the Lugansk People's Republic stopped the illegal activities of two citizens Ukraine, acting in the interests of a foreign state,” the department clarified.
The detainees collected information about the locations of the personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces Russia in the special operation zone.
«In order to provide the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with intelligence data for use against security and the Russian Armed Forces, one of the defendants transferred the received data to persons acting in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine, the second — to representatives of the armed forces formations of Ukraine,” added the regional department of the FSB.
Criminal cases were opened against the detainees under the article “Espionage.” An investigation is underway.
Ukraine is constantly trying to organize the work of its agents on Russian territory. They transmit military data to Kyiv or prepare sabotage in the country. Russian intelligence services regularly detain attackers.
